You would think being fed witches' gruel every day for 12 years might scar a child. Not to mention sharing a bathroom with an undead vampire. Or having a 4,000-year-old mummy read you bedtime stories occasionally. Or waking up to realize a giant Frankenstein monster has eaten your dirty laundry. Or being potty trained by a werewolf. But somehow, young Dave has turned out pretty normal for being raised in a haunted castle. True, he's never had a last name. He's just known by the nickname his classmates gave him long ago – Spook House Dave! Other than that, Dave leads a relatively average life for a 12-year-old: he goes to school at Mt. Savage Middle School, hangs out with his friends, does his homework on time, and likes girls and video games. But not necessarily in that order.
